September 28, 2016: As part of a large campaign to stop executions in Iran, a huge rally was organized in front of the United Nations, New York by Iranian American communities. A huge interfaith community from New York participated and condemned Rouhani’s record of more than 2,500 executions until September 2016. A Street Play about the executions during 1988 Massacres in Iran and a Photo Exhibition was presented. As a result, UN Third committee condemned Iran for the violation of human rights in its country and the General Assembly (in a recorded vote of 85 in favour to 35 against, with 63 abstentions) adopted the resolution.
